CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Hi friends!

In this post I will tell you about the changes that could be made to my career.

This is difficult, because I really like my career, but like everything in life , nothing is perfect! jajaja

After four years of experience, I feel that the career is very theoretical, I mean that most of the classes are in the classroom, although at the end of the year we have internships, or within the year we have a couple of exits, I feel like it's not enough.

With this I mean that work could be carried out in practice itself, for example, in the subject of "production and genetic improvement of plants", they could will should carry out workshops in the plant nursery on how to reproduce, germinate the plants ourselves, perform them cuttings, grafts, or that we create an irrigation system, which allows us to realize how it really works, or provide information on the estimated production according to each species, the requirements that are needed for each one, among others, not only with a species as we did at the time, but also having that experience of carrying out the activities by ourselves a couple of times more, because I feel that although we are given the theoretical tools, we learn much more doing, because this remains engraved in the mind at the time of doing it, at the same time other doubts arise that do not arise in the classes. The same happens in other subjects.

I feel like that plant
against the future :(

On the other hand, I feel that we are not given the tools to enter working life, this is what I mean very simple things, such as, how do I do my resume?, how do I look for work?, tips for the job interview, what do I do first day of work ?, things like that. I feel like there is a gap between graduating and working, which should improve over time.

Thanks for reading me, greetings.

  1. I believe that for us as foresters, practice in the field is essential, theory is fine, but there is no such thing as learning by doing!
